Dr Vanita Toogood is an Endocrinologist who is committed to providing personalized evidenced based medicine with a focus on holistic care. Patients find her to be compassionate and understanding whilst being professional and competent.
After finishing secondary school at PLC Sydney, Vanita completed a Bachelor of Medical Science at the University of Sydney. Following this she went on to complete her medical degree, also at the University of Sydney.
Her medical career began as a junior medical officer at St Vincent’s Hospital Darlinghurst and included a year of emergency medicine training. She underwent her Advanced Training in Endocrinology at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Concord Hospital, and the Garvan Institute of Medical
Research. She was admitted to the Royal Australian College of Physicians as an Endocrinologist in 2013.
Vanita's areas of interest are broad and include diabetes (type 1, type 2 and
pregnancy-related), insulin resistance including polycystic ovarian syndrome, thyroid and pituitary disorders, and other endocrine diseases including osteoporosis and obesity.
She regularly attends national and international meetings and has ongoing research at The Garvan Institute of Medical Research in the area of type 2 diabetes and how it relates to Cushing’s Syndrome.
